New Swiss travel search engine launched social media campaigning in blogs and on Facebook and Twitter.
Lausanne, Zürich. Never before have people been travelling more than today. Getting quickly and easily from A to B has become indispensable in today’s mobile world. routeRANK, a new travel search engine, makes environmentally conscious travel as easy as anything. For each connection found, the Swiss start-up’s web application calculates CO2 emissions; but routeRANK can do even more: It intelligently combines hundreds of flight, train, shuttle and car routes and ranks them all according to total price or total duration. Finally, the preferred connection can be booked directly via routeRANK. «With only two clicks, you’ll get the cheapest, fastest or most ecology-friendly travel ticket», says CEO Jochen Mundinger.
For companies and organizations, routeRANK develops custom-made versions of its software, for internal use or as part of the client’s website. WWF as well as Nokia already run services provided by routeRANK.
In order to raise awareness and build a base of loyal users, routeRANK has assigned two agencies the task of social media campaigning. Blogwerk, specialized in corporate blogs and Web 2.0 consulting, is focusing on blogs and Twitter. Zurich-based management consultancy and agency business campaigning Switzerland is laying focus on Facebook. Both are synchronizing their activities with all the other relevant activities of routeRANK. The objective is an integrated campaign using the full range of modern social networks to build a community the company can stay in touch with. The mandate is a fixed-term pilot project; the learnings will be evaluated for a follow-up project.
